Directions
From Durban/Pietermaritzburg
If you’re coming from the Durban/Pietermaritzburg side, to get to the Kamberg valley take the N3 Highway towards Mooi River.
- Take the Mooi River Plaza Offramp and at the STOP, turn left.
- At the following STOP in front of Wimpy, turn Right.
- Continue straight until the Traffic circle/Roundabout and take the first exit left on the “Giants Castle” road.
- At the traffic light, turn right on the Giants Castle road.
- Drive over the Railway line bridge and at the STOP sign opposite Standard Bank, turn left.
- At the next 4-way STOP, turn right on the P-19 road towards Giants Castle.
- Roadworks will start after 2,5km and will continue for 4km.
- After 23km on the Giants Castle road, the road will get bad with potholes – drive slowly.
- After 26,5km, an Eskom sub-station will be on your left. Continue straight.
- After 35,3km there will be a 4-way STOP.
- Turn left and stop at the “Bio-security” spray-station to get your vehicle sprayed against Foot & Mouth disease.
- Drive for 3,9km and turn right on the D-11 dirt road.
- Continue straight on the dirt road for 3,2km and turn left at the gate with the signpost that reads ORIBI Conservation and National Heritage.
- Follow the main road up the mountain for 2,2km to the lodge.
Directions
From Johannesburg
If you’re coming from Johannesburg on the N3 take Exit 146, Mooi Toll Offramp
- At the STOP, turn left.
- At the following STOP, turn right onto R103.
- You will see Treverton Preparatory School on your left, continue straight.
- Continue straight until the Traffic circle/Roundabout and take the 3rd exit left on the “Giants Castle” road.
- At the traffic light, turn right on the Giants Castle road.
- Drive over the Railway line bridge and at the STOP sign opposite Standard Bank, turn left.
- At the next 4-way STOP, turn right on the P-19 road towards Giants Castle.
- Roadworks will start after 2,5km and will continue for 4km.
